Nitrogen Gas acquisition

Choose a Nitrogen Gas well on the standard resource map, then confirm its location in your world. Build the pressurizer on the core and extractors on its satellites.

Nitrogen Gas is extracted from underground gas wells and used in recipes such as Nitric Acid, Cooling System, and Fused Modular Frame. A well has a core and multiple satellites: use a Resource Well Pressurizer on the core, then Resource Well Extractors on the satellites, and connect their outputs with pipelines. On the standard resource and purity layout, six cores pressurize 45 satellites or outlets, for 51 recorded actors total. Satellite purity grades affect extraction rate. Randomized worlds can differ from the standard layout.

How to farm

Before you go

Resource Well Pressurizer and Resource Well Extractors
Power for the pressurizer and pipelines for gas output

Select a Nitrogen Gas well using the standard resource map as a location reference.
Travel to the site and identify the well core and its surrounding satellites.
Build a Resource Well Pressurizer on the core and connect it to power.
Place Resource Well Extractors on the satellites, accounting for their purity grades when planning extraction rate.
Connect extractor outputs with pipelines and route the gas to storage or consumers such as a Blender.

Farming tips

Do not place a Miner on the well; use the pressurizer and satellite extractors.
Purity grades affect satellite extraction rates, so inspect each satellite before designing supply around it.
The standard layout map may not match randomized worlds.

Repeat, collect and use

For another well, repeat the core pressurizer and satellite extractor setup, then connect the new pipelines to your gas network.

Common mistakes

Building a Miner on a gas well instead of a Resource Well Pressurizer on the core.
Assuming a randomized world follows the standard resource and purity layout.

When to stop or switch

Stop expanding the gas network when storage and consumers receive enough supply for your planned production.
