CRAFTING & INGREDIENTS

Modular Engine acquisition

Build a Manufacturer, select the Modular Engine recipe, and route in its ingredients. Feed the output to storage, the Space Elevator, or a Thermal Propulsion Rocket production line.

Modular Engine is Project Part #4. Manufacture it for Project Assembly, then deliver it through the Space Elevator when a phase calls for it. It is also used to make Thermal Propulsion Rockets. A Manufacturer combines Motors, Rubber, and Smart Plating; you need all three inputs for every batch.

GET STARTED

How to craft

Before you craft

  • Manufacturer and Modular Engine recipe unlocked
  • 2 Motors, 15 Rubber, and 2 Smart Plating per batch
  1. Unlock the Manufacturer and Modular Engine recipe through progression.
  2. Set up or draw from production lines for Motors, Rubber, and Smart Plating.
  3. Connect all three inputs to the Manufacturer and check that each line can keep it supplied.
  4. Run the recipe: each batch consumes 2 Motors, 15 Rubber, and 2 Smart Plating to produce 1 Modular Engine.
  5. Store the finished parts or route them to the Space Elevator or Thermal Propulsion Rocket production.

Crafting tips

  • At 100% clock, the recipe uses 2 Motors, 15 Rubber, and 2 Smart Plating per minute to produce 1 Modular Engine per minute.
  • Smart Plating is also needed for other Project Assembly work, so check that supply before increasing engine production.
  • If the Manufacturer stops, inspect each input and the output route.

Repeat, collect and use

Keep the Manufacturer supplied and its output clear while you need Modular Engines. Replenish all three ingredients before expecting uninterrupted production.

Common mistakes

  • Searching for a Modular Engine resource deposit instead of manufacturing the item.
  • Assuming the Manufacturer can run when Motors, Rubber, or Smart Plating is missing.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have delivered the required Project Assembly amount and filled any planned Thermal Propulsion Rocket stock.
