Polymer Resin is a solid coproduct of the default Fuel recipe in a Refinery. That recipe consumes Crude Oil and outputs both Fuel and Resin. Resin can be processed into Residual Rubber or Residual Plastic, and the optional Polyester Fabric alternate recipe also uses it. Its production depends on a Crude Oil supply and separate capacity for both coproducts. Polymer Resin is manufactured, not collected from a deposit. Each default recipe batch uses 6 m³ Crude Oil and produces 4 m³ Fuel plus 3 Resin.

How to craft
Configure a Refinery for the Fuel recipe and supply Crude Oil through an appropriate oil extraction setup. The standard map depicts the standard world layout; it may not show resource locations in a randomized layout.
Before you craft
Refinery configured for the Fuel recipe
6 m³ Crude Oil per batch
Capacity or demand for both 4 m³ Fuel and 3 Polymer Resin per batch
Use the standard resource map to locate Crude Oil resources.
Choose an accessible oil supply and verify its location in game.
Extract Crude Oil with the appropriate setup and pipe it to a Refinery.
Configure the Refinery to produce Fuel, which also outputs Polymer Resin.
Collect and route the Resin to Residual Rubber or Residual Plastic production.
Use Resin for Polyester Fabric only if that optional alternate recipe is available.
Crafting tips
At 100% clock, the default Fuel recipe consumes 60 m³ Crude Oil and produces 40 m³ Fuel plus 30 Resin per minute.
Fuel and Resin are distinct outputs and need separate handling.
The standard map shows a standard layout; do not rely on it for randomized resource locations.
Repeat, collect and use
Continue production while Crude Oil is available and both Fuel and Resin output paths have storage or active demand.
Common mistakes
Treating Polymer Resin as a direct Crude Oil recipe or searching for a Resin node.
Letting either Fuel or Resin back up and block the Refinery.
Planning around an optional alternate recipe before confirming it is available.
When to stop or switch
Throttle or stop the Refinery when either coproduct has no available storage or downstream demand, or when Crude Oil delivery is constrained.
