Sulfur is a raw solid resource used chiefly to produce Black Powder, and it also feeds Sulfuric Acid and other recipes. Locate it on the on-page resource map, then inspect node purity and accessibility before placing an extractor. In version 1.2, resource and purity randomization are optional; the map shows the standard layout, so match your settings when gathering from nodes. The bottleneck is getting a Miner and transport line to a suitable node.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Filter the on-page resource map for Sulfur, inspect the purity of available nodes, and choose an accessible one. Use a Miner on the node and convey Sulfur to your factory. The standard map may not match a world using randomized resource or purity settings.

Before you go

  • A Sulfur node accessible in your world.
  • Miner and transport to move the extracted Sulfur.
  1. Filter the resource map for Sulfur.
  2. Inspect node purity and choose a location you can access; account for randomization settings if enabled.
  3. Place the appropriate Miner on the node.
  4. Connect a belt or other transport to carry Sulfur to production or storage.
  5. Feed it to a recipe such as Black Powder in an Assembler or Sulfuric Acid in a Refinery, once unlocked.

Farming tips

  • Sulfur supports several uses, so route only the amount needed by each active consumer.
  • Optional alternate recipes that use Sulfur require their own unlock; do not assume they are available from the start.

Repeat, collect and use

Keep extracting and routing Sulfur while production demand continues, and check the node and transport line if supply falls.

Common mistakes

  • Searching the map with mismatched randomized settings and assuming the standard node layout is exact.
  • Using a crafted-item machine as the node extractor instead of a Miner.

When to stop or switch

Stop or throttle extraction when storage and active consumers have adequate Sulfur.
